ICS&M provide an onsite engineer that will not only maintain your computer hardware, but help you develop your entire I.T. infrastructure.

The roles and tasks of the onsite engineer will vary from site to site, however below we have listed some of the benefits which are currently available.  We appreciate that every siteis different and if you are interested in this service but a task your require us to do is not listed below, please do not hesitate in contacting us to discuss.

  • Disaster Recovery: Planning and implementation.
  • Audit: Record details of your hardware and software.  This will make sure that end users are not tampering with hardware or installing there own or illegal software.
  • Group Policy: Setup groups of users and issue priviliges.
  • Server Admin: Setup and edit users, email groups, manage shares etc.
  • Server Maintenance: Run server maintenance routines such as disk management, monitoring drive space, defrag, etc.
  • SPAM Filter: Maintain spam filter.  If users complain of multiple spam emails with the same subject, this can be added to the spam filter to block the incoming spam emails.
  • AntiVirus: Check definition updates are current and that definitions have been distributed to workstations.  Maintain exclusions list to maximize system speeds.
  • Backup: Check backups complete correctly and run test restores to test data integrity. 
  • Network: Configure and maintain managed network switches analyzing throughput and port bandwidth.
  • Internet: Monitor user Internet usage and report abuse.  Manage users Internet browsing.
  • Updates: Download and install Windows security updates.
  • Software: Install and update 3rd party software.  For example update Sage when new version is sent.
  • Mobile Phone Integration: Manage and develop Blackberry and Windows mobile usage.
  • Systems: With the help of auditing we would suggest a system replacement plan where computers may be replaced or moved to different users.  Recycle old computers and ensure hard disk has data wiped clean.
  • Extended support: An engineer will be on call out of normal business working hours.
  • Response: Upgraded response times from 8 working hours to 4 working hours (Applicable to part time site engineer.
  • Project Management: Manage new projects and help with integration of new systems.

We would require a secure office where we would provide our own computers system as well as storing loan computers and parts required for your site.  Quick access to parts will minimize your computer downtime by increasing repair speeds.

Although the primary role for an I.T. administrator is to maintain systems uptime we would also hope to save you money.  For example we can achieve savings by reviewing your printing systems and sourcing consumables from our suppliers.

We may also be able to help with your website delevopment by liasing with your current web designer or updating your website ourselves.  If you have a lot of traffic to your website you should be keeping your end user intersted by updating your content on a regular basis.  We can also help with Google Adword campaigns to generate extra traffic to your website.
